Mable Herrera made this beautiful intricated designed pottery as shown.  Southwestern pottery and silver & torquoise jewelry are very popular items.  Potters and silversmiths designs, are generated within the artisans' minds and hearts, producing quality products in the world's marketplaces.

Pottery is mentioned in the Bible.  We read in the book of Isaiah chapter 64:8,
"And yet Lord, you are our Father.  We are the clay, and you are the potter.  We are all formed by your hand."

In Genesis 1:26, 27 the scripture states, "And God said, Let us make man in Our image after Our likeness...So God created man in His own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female."  "And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul."

The above scripture verses speaks of Creator God who made first man named Adam.  He was made out of clay--dust of the ground--and God did CPR on Adam and he "became a living soul."  Therefore, man and woman's spirit comes from the Creator.  We are created in His image and likeness.  Our human bodies are earthly and will return back to the "dust of the ground" (Genesis 3:19).  But our spirit belongs to the Creator our Father in heaven.

Jeremiah 18:1-6 also speaks of the potter and the clay:
"The Lord gave another message to Jeremiah.  He said, 'Go down to the shop where clay pots and jars are made.  I will speak to you while you are there.  So I did as he told me and found the potter working at his wheel.  But the jar he was making did not turn out as he had hoped, so the potter squashed the jar into a lump of clay and started again.  Then the Lord gave me this message:  O' Israel, can I not do to you as this potter has done to his clay?  As the clay is in the potter's hand, so are you in my hand.'"

The lesson is, the Creator of the heavens and the earth is the Potter.  He knows all the clay vessels He has created, namely you and me and everyone in the world.  He molds us into His "image and likeness."  If there are irregularities of the clay jar; He will squash the clay vessel on the wheel and reshape us until we are perfect in His sight.

The Potter has absolute power!  We completely place ourselves, as clay in the hands of the Master, in complete trust and surrender to His power & authority.

Note, the Messiah of Israel Jesus Christ healed a man that was blind from his birth (John 9:1-7).  In verse 6, we read the following,
"...Then He spit on the ground, made clay with the saliva, and smoothed the clay over the blind man's eyes.  He told him, 'Go and wash in the pool of Siloam.'  So the man went and washed, and came back seeing!

Jesus Christ the Messiah of Israel is the Creator (John 1:14), who made the blind man to see.  He molds us into His image and likness (II Corinthians 5:17).
